Why?

I'm sure the whole world is asking why.... While I was bitching about our awful weather here in CNY, this was going on. Our weather is so insignificant. What drives people to do such things? Why can't people in circumstances such as this resolve their problems peacefully. I can't make any conclusions because I do not understand this type of thinking, or this kind of mental illness. History is showing us that this type of behavior is only getting worse. I feel so bad for all the students involved, all the parents and Professors. This is will never abandon them. God Bless everyone involved and I hope that someday they will heal from this awful tragedy.

As to why, there is no explanation. Cho was clearly a troubled young man. He had visited a mental health clinic, a creative writing teacher had recommended him to school counselling, he never even talked to his own roommates. Like the Columbine shootings, all the warning signs were there. Unlike Columbine, people in positions of authority actually did something about it. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough.

What's sad is that the school could not force him to go to counselling. Even though classmates were openly terrified by him. He actually could have sued the school if they forced him to attend counselling.

We'll never know the why, but we can know the "what"
