Mystery of Numbers-try this

Choose and number consisting of five digits. Multiply it by 9. Now add the digits in the answer. If the sum is more than 9, add the digits of this sum, and repeat until the sum is less than 10. Your answer will always be 9. Repeat this exercise with a number consisting of six digits. Does the same result hold? :)
